Celebrating Community Interpreters

Sunday, 31/12/2028

In June DRI successfully certified 15 new students as level 3 Certified Community Interpreters! Each of the interpreters can fluently speak one or more languages including: Russian, Arabic, Latvian, Spanish, Czech, Farsi, Shona, Polish, Bengali/Hindi, French, Urdu, Bhojpury, Pashto and Dari.

The course took three months to complete and was led by Dominique MacNeill who says that she 'thoroughly enjoyed it' and is 'so proud of our students' achievements'. With this qualification these new professional local interpreters will be able to take on non-voluntary freelance work and are now able to interpret for Sussex Public Sector organisations.
